Looking Up: Natasha Ramon

Through the ages, it has been commonly known that being outdoors is good for our health and well-being, and the perspective from the summit of a mountain goes beyond the visual. This is a piece of Natasha's story, a heartwarming journey moving upward and forward. We love her advice for anyone with the inclination to step outdoors looking for adventure. Mountains level the playing field. We all begin at the bottom.

Geek on the Water: Jacob Nixon

Our first angler on the blog is from Virginia, but will fish in any body of water that crosses his path. We're excited to get to know Jacob a little and share his new YouTube channel, "Geek On The Water" at which you can find tips for fishing certain species as well as content the fly tying community will love. Sharing a love for the outdoors is what we're all about and Jacob does not disappoint. There's more to fishing that what can be seen on the surface.

Michigan Explorer: Roman Kahler

The beauty of nature is clearly communicated in Roman's photography. From the shorelines of Michigan to the Aurora of Sweden, a timeless thread connects his art. As we got to know him through social media, the love Roman has for history and the land was immediately apparent. It wasn't until recently that we learned about some of his other hobbies and passions. We truly enjoy witnessing the experiences and knowledge he shares through his photography.

One Life on Earth: Colin Vestrand

Colin and his wife and kids have been our friends for many years. We've heard stories about the northern Michigan adventures through swarming mosquitoes to gorgeous lakeshore views. Now we're excited to share that they have opened a coffee shop in downtown Paw Paw, MI with a unique and inviting atmosphere, comfortable seating, and, of course, excellent coffee. One thing we like to highlight about real life adventurers is that they often have full-time jobs and accept the challenge of weaving adventure and travel into that lifestyle. Hopefully stories like Colin's inspire and encourage the adventurous at heart to try something different.

The American Field Trip: Madison Bowman

In order to bring their dreams to life, Madison and her husband David took off on an adventure in a converted shuttle bus with their two small children. They're hitting up the big 59 in the National Park System and educating themselves as advocates for public land. While life on the road with little ones is not the norm, the Bowmans are on a course that has lead them to experience America, and in the process, inspire others to get outside and connect with nature.
